PUBG Mobile may not launch in India as the government extended ban on Chinese apps

Earlier, PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite were banned in India by the country’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, along with 116 other apps of Chinese origin.

PUBG Corporation continued to make its relations with Tencent Games in India to reverse the ban on PUBG Mobile. But PUBG Corporation will no longer authorize its PUBG Mobile franchise to Tencent Games in India.

Recently, the Indian government’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology indicate that PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite might not be launched in India. Now, PUBG Mobile is expected to relaunch in India in nearly March 2021.

The Chinese apps transmitted user data to hostile to national security and defense of India. The Indian government has already banned TikTok, WeChat, and other services earlier in 2020.

PUBG Mobile was the biggest mobile game in India with over 50 million monthly active players. The mobile version of this game is developed by China’s Tencent Games, while the desktop version of the game is made by South Korea’s Bluehole.

There’s no clear information on how long it would take for PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite to return to the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store for Indian users.
