Samsung Bixby 3.0 update brings support for Indian English, words and more
Just like Apple Siri, Samsung also offers its own voice assistant, Bixby that comes pre-installed with Galaxy devices. It allows you to control and enable a variety of settings and functions.
In order to make Bixby smarter, Samsung introduced support for Indian English and Bixby 3.0 updates. Bixby 3.0 now understands Indian names and other content better than before, allowing seamless access to daily tasks on smartphones.
Samsung said it has introduced support for Indian English as part of Bixby 3.0 to improve user experience and make Bixby features more meaningful and specific to Indian consumers. The company pointed out that the new Bixby 3.0 aims to control everyday situations with new and improved Indian English avatars.

Samsung will initially launch the Bixby 3.0 update and provide Indian English support for the latest Galaxy S21 flagship store and the recently launched Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones. The company confirmed that this update will soon be available for more devices, such as the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Fold series.
After introducing new changes in version 3.0, Bixby can now recognize Indian names, content, location, relationships, and recipes, etc. In addition, you can set timers for daily yoga activities, check the weather in New Delhi, call Maa or Bhaiya on the way to work, search for Diwali pictures on your smartphone, and more.
How it will work?
- Existing Bixby users will see a banner on top of their Bixby app screen on supported devices.
- Clicking on this banner will enable Indian English on their device
- New Bixby users must select Indian English while setting up Bixby on supported devices
