Samsung dropped outdoor Galaxy Unpacked event plan, here’s why

Samsung was all set for the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2023, which was going to take place on July 26 at Seoul Plaza. This is the first time when Samsung is going to host a highly anticipated event on its home ground, but due to some circumstances, the Korean tech maker has dropped the plan of an outdoor Galaxy Unpacked event.

As per the information of koreajoongangdaily, Samsung has made the difficult decision to cancel its highly anticipated ‘Outdoor’ Galaxy Unpacked event due to inclement weather caused by heavy rains. This unforeseen circumstance has forced the company to prioritize the safety and well-being of attendees and participants.

The tech maker, wanted foreign tourists and citizens to enjoy the global Unpacked event live in Seoul. The program was supposed to have been followed with performances from K-pop acts and for event participants to try out the new products unveiled at the main event, including the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5.

Official Statement 

• We decided to cancel the outdoor event of ‘Galaxy Unpack 2023 Live Viewing’ due to heavy rains and unpredictable weather conditions,” the smartphone maker said in a statement Friday.

Galaxy Unpacked is a highly anticipated event where Samsung unveils its latest products and innovations to the world. The company had planned to host this particular event outdoors, creating a unique and immersive experience for attendees, but nature had other plans. However, the main indoor event will still be held according to the schedule from 8 p.m. at Coex in southern Seoul.
