Update 8, January 13 (05:36 ET) ― January 2021 security patch in the US

January 2022 update in the US

Samsung’s January 2022 security patch has now started rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series units in the US. For now, it looks like the rollout is limited to unlocked units in the US.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy S21: G991U1UES4BULE
  • Galaxy S21+: G996U1UES4BULE
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra: G998U1UES4BULE

According to Samsung, the company added 62 fixes, 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung, in the January 2022 security patch.

From fixed issues, 2 of them were critical, 39 vulnerabilities were highly prioritized, and 12 were moderately severe, while 9 vulnerabilities were included in Google’s own patch. If you want to read about the security patch in detail, check here for details.

You can check for the update manually by heading to the Settings app on your device and then:

The Galaxy S21 series is getting the January 2022 security patch. The Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are getting the latest security patch in the Netherlands and Germany. It should soon be available in more regions.

Along with the latest security patch, the update improves the overall performance of the devices. The software versions are:

  • Galaxy S21+: G996BXXU4BULF
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra: G998BXXU4BULF

Samsung has already updated the trio with Android 12-based One UI 4.0 OS.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series is getting a new software update with software version G991BXXS3BULC, G996BXXS3BULC, and G998BXXS3BULC to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra respectively.

The latest update fixes bugs and improves the performance and stability of the device. It also brings the December 2021 security patch. The update is currently rolling out in India.

According to Sammy Fans, the Samsung Community moderator in South Korea confirmed that Google and Samsung working to resolve the issue related to Google Play.

Samsung is rapidly working to fix that issue and will resume the Galaxy S21 Android 12 release as soon as possible.

The Galaxy S21 devices are getting a new One UI 4.0 update with the December 2021 security patch. Samsung adds fixes for the 5 critical, 22 high, and 3 moderate issues.

The software versions are G998BXXS3BUL1, G996BXXS3BUL1, and G991BXXS3BUL1 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 respectively.

The Galaxy S21 is getting the first software update after getting a stable One UI 4.0 update. The latest Galaxy S21 update is rolling out in the European market, starting with Germany. It comes with the November 2021 security patch.

OCTOBER 25, 2021:

Recently, Samsung has started to release the One UI 4 Beta 3 update for the Galaxy S21 series devices in several regions. This release came with the latest November 2021 security patch for the Beta participants.

However, the same patches releasing for the Galaxy S21 phones running Android 11 in Germany.
