Samsung has rolled out the December 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22 series, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. This update is currently live in Europe, with a global rollout expected soon.

The latest software update improves system security and stability, ensuring your files and data remain protected while keeping the phone running smoothly. According to Samsung, the update fixes over 45 security issues reported by both Google and Samsung.

Build Versions:

  • Galaxy S22: S901BXXSDEXKA
  • Galaxy S22 Plus: S906BXXSDEXKA
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra: S908BXXSDEXKA

The update size is about 260MB, and users can install it by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Installing this update will also prepare your phone for future updates, including One UI 7.

One UI 7 Beta 2 Update and New Home Launcher

Samsung has also released One UI 7 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 series in select regions. This beta update includes a new version of the Samsung One UI Home launcher (version 16.0.00.203) designed for devices running One UI 7 based on Android 15.

The updated One UI Home app improves performance, enhances stability, and fixes bugs to make the device run smoother and more reliably. If you’re testing One UI 7 Beta, this update should install automatically.

“Secured by Knox” Watermark Removed

Samsung has listened to user feedback and removed the “Secured by Knox” watermark from the App Drawer in the One UI 7 Beta 2 update. Initially introduced with Beta 1, the watermark was seen as distracting by many users.

Now, Galaxy S24 users running the Beta 2 version will enjoy a cleaner App Drawer interface. Samsung confirmed that the watermark would also be absent in the stable One UI 7 update.

Additional Improvements in One UI 7 Beta 2

The new Beta update brings fixes to several issues, including:

  • Display and animations
  • Samsung DeX
  • Game Booster
  • Widgets and GPS
  • Samsung Messages and Calls app

These improvements ensure a smoother and more reliable user experience for Beta testers.

Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta Program is currently available in select countries, including:

  • US
  • UK
  • Germany
  • India
  • Korea
  • Poland

If you’re interested in trying out the new features before the stable release, you can sign up for the Beta program through the Samsung Members app.
