Samsung Germany says no One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9/S9+

In April 2020, we have heard YES and NO several times from Samsung support or community manager about the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 series.

The Galaxy Note and S9/S9+ users will be disappointed, as Samsung Germany says there will be no One UI 2.1 update for the two phone series. Last week, Samsung Germany moderator has confirmed that Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users will not get UI 2.1 update for their devices.

Here’s the list of eligible Samsung devices that will get the One UI 3.0/Android 11

“According to the information we have, the One UI 2.1 update will not be rolled out on the Galaxy S9 or the Note9,” the moderator said, “We cannot make a blanket statement about the period over which certain mobile devices are supplied with updates from us. Software updates depend on various factors, which are also influenced by external conditions. Even if your Galaxy smartphone no longer receives the update to One UI 2.1, it is still far from old.”

We have heard the same statement earlier from Samsung South Korea. This is a second repeat of the One UI 2.1 update denial for the Galaxy Note 9 and S9 series.

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series is more than two years old, while the Galaxy Note 9 is going to be two years old in August 2020. Both smartphones will continue to receive regular security updates for another year.
