Samsung registered its best-ever Diwali festive season sales at $1.7 billion (between September-October) in India with a 99 percent growth in premium category smartphones in the first three quarters of 2022.

Aditya Babbar, senior director and head of product marketing at Samsung India, revealed that Samsung sold $1.7 billion (INR 144 billion) worth of Galaxy devices during the festival in India.
According to the official, Samsung registered a 178 percent year-on-year growth in 5G smartphone sales between January-September 2022, which also reflects broader domestic consumption.
In addition, Mr. Babbar said that the company will release 5G support software updates for all 5G network-compatible Galaxy devices in India by November 15.
Earlier, a new report by Counterpoint Research revealed that Xiaomi was the leader, while Samsung was the second largest smartphone vendor in India with an 18 percent market share in the third quarter of 2022.
