Apart from the One UI 6.0 development, Samsung is working on Gen 8 OLED panels, which are likely to come into the production line by 2026. The company is expected to kick-start the manufacturing of the respective display sheets aimed at IT devices in the first half of 2026.

According to the information, the LG Display and BOE are also in the same queue and may invest in Gen 8 OLED panels as soon as they secure funding and customers. At the same time, Visionox has been in the headlines for initiating investing in Gen 8 OLED panels. Following that, Samsung will push the Gen 8 OLED panels production in 2026.

The details further hint that demand for Gen 8 OLED panels for set makers will increase in the future, allowing them to become the new profit generators for display makers. On the other hand, 7.9 million units of iPad OLED panels for Apple are expected to be shipped this year, but this will jump to 18.8 million units next year.
