Samsung Display and LG Display are considered to develop OLEDs for Apple’s upcoming product lineup that is expected to be unveiled later this year. Meanwhile, a recent report suggests that Samsung Display may soon kick off mass production of the iPhone 16 OLED screens.
As per the information of TheElec, Samsung seems to commence the mass production of iPhone 16 OLED panels soon, and this development aligns with the earlier expectations that production would start in the first half of this year, with a strong focus on achieving those sleek and thin bezels.
The collaboration between Samsung and Apple for the iPhone 16 display is definitely something to keep an eye on because LG is also in the battle. However, Apple is also focussing on applying thinner bezel panels on its Pro models – iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max offering a better experience.

The report further reveals that a BRS (Border Reduction Structure) technology is been applied to make the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max bezels thinner. Slim bezels have become increasingly popular in smartphones as they maximize the screen-to-body ratio and increase overall device size.
