Samsung rolls out December 2024 security update for Galaxy S24 FE

Samsung has started releasing the December 2024 security update for the Galaxy S24 FE. This update improves system security and stability and is currently available in South Korea, with plans to expand to other regions soon.

The update, with One UI build version S721NKSS2AXK5, is around 300 MB in size. It is being rolled out in stages, so some users may receive it later than others.

Key Features of the Update

  1. Enhanced Security:
    • Fixes 45 vulnerabilities, including 6 critical and 28 high-severity ones identified by Google.
    • Includes Samsung-specific patches for 2 high-level issues in semiconductor products.
    • Adds 8 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) fixes targeting issues in areas like the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode.
  2. Software Details:
    • The update is based on One UI 6.1.1 running on Android 14.
    • The Galaxy S24 FE remains eligible for the upcoming One UI 7, which is currently in beta testing for the Galaxy S24 series. A stable release is expected alongside Samsung’s next flagship lineup in 2025.

How to Update Your Device

Updating is simple:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap on Software Updates.
  • Select Download and Install.

Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery life before starting the update.
