Samsung to bless new devices with 5 Android OS upgrades, what about OnePlus?

OnePlus and Samsung both are preparing for their foldable phones’ launch event, but the South Korean tech maker is one step ahead as it says to offer 5 years of Android OS upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

As per the inputs revealed by SammyFans, Samsung is planning to bless its new Galaxy devices with 5 years of Android upgrades and 7 years of parts availability services. Though things aren’t confirmed for the time, the koesio page reads a brief note on this matter.

That raises the question – Will tech giants like Samsung and OnePlus really upscale the Android OS upgrades support for its newly launched devices, for up to 5 years?

OnePlus Nord 3 – A new beginning

Yes, the Chinese OEM is serving 3 years of major Android with 4 years of security updates cycle to the latest OnePlus Nord 3. However, previous Nord devices still sealed with the same (2 major + 3 security patch years) software policy. Thus, this gives an idea that the company could revise its upgrade rollout regulations for the upcoming devices.

And who knows, we could find a relevant surprise for the OnePlus Open foldable in August with 5 years of Android OS updates, just like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Let’s not forget that both tech makers stand as the top rivals in the market, and the Nord developer is already planning to give a tough spot to the South Korean manufacturer in every manner.

Several possibilities are taking shape but without any confirmation. Yet, in case OnePlus increases the upgrade period for its new flagships, we could expect an increment for old handsets as well (which should happen as per user reports). Things are quite confusing for the moment, but we will keep you posted with the latest details on this subject.
