It’s worth mentioning that Galaxy S22 series has already received the One UI 4.1.1 update in the US. But that update is based on Android 12 and it doesn’t bring major feature additions that Android 12L has.

Moving on, Samsung has further unveiled the Android 12L One UI 4.1.1 features that will make the flagship tablet’s large-screen experience even more optimized. Let’s have a look at these features.

Taskbar

The Taskbar is the most notable change that the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update will bring to the Galaxy tablets. It provides a more intuitive and user-friendly tablet UI than ever before.

Using this feature, eligible device owners can enjoy swifter, more intuitive app switching, more customizable layouts, frictionless multitasking, and apps that effect better on large screens.

You can customize your taskbar with your favorite apps and tap seamlessly and speedily between active sessions. The taskbar also shows your two most recently used applications, so you can easily pick up where you left off.

To add the app pair to taskbar: Open App pair (up to three apps at once) > Tap the three dots in the border between the apps > Click the star-shaped Favorite symbol > Add the app pair to the taskbar.

Split Screen View

You can use up to three apps at the same time in Split Screen View, the taskbar can be temporarily hidden for a more immersive screen view, notifications can be dragged straight into a split screen and all apps can be viewed in a grid-style layout to name a few of the changes users can expect.

You can now open apps in split screen by enabling the ‘Swipe for Split Screen’ option. This feature lets you swipe from the left, right, or bottom of the screen with two fingers to open up a new application in a split screen.

To enable Swipe for split screen: Head over to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs > Click on “Swipe for split screen” to turn on the feature.

Pop-overs

Pop-overs let you schedule events, change settings, and more all without switching screens. However, sometimes, you need to take a quick look at your Samsung Calendar app while adding events or take a look at your to-do list while writing reminders.

With Samsung Android 12L, you can peek right through your pop-overs by touching and holding the screen around them. This will turn pop-overs temporarily transparent so that you can see the rest of the app behind them.

They appear again as soon as you lift your finger. Through simple touch and hold, this seamless flow lets you see the big picture when making new plans and also works with the Clock and Reminders apps.

To enable pop-over: Go to your Samsung Calendar/Clock/Reminder > Plan a new event in a pop-over > Touch and hold the screen outside the pop-over to peek through.
