Samsung will remotely attend Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress
Mobile World Congress is the largest event in the global smartphone industry. In this case, several mobile phone manufacturers introduced their innovative products, technologies, and demonstrated their vision for the future. However, due to the pandemic, the 2020 Mobile World Congress was canceled and postponed to late June 2021.
Samsung recently confirmed that it will not appear at the upcoming Mobile World Congress due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is worth mentioning that the next WMC will be held in Barcelona next month.
According to an official email statement issued by Reuters, Samsung said: “The health and safety of our employees, partners, and customers are our top priority, so we decided to withdraw from participating in this year’s Mobile World exhibition in person. Congress.”
This decision makes the South Korean technology giant the latest major OEM to decide to participate in the 2021 Mobile World Congress. Earlier, Sony, Ericsson, Nokia, and several technology manufacturers confirmed that they did not participate in the actual MWC 2021 event.
However, Samsung is expected to launch three new high-end phones in August this year, including the Galaxy S21 FE (which is the flagship Galaxy S21, an affordable variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3). Since the company does not participate in face-to-face events, it can hold a separate launch event for these upcoming devices.
