Samsung’s One UI 7: A delayed debut

Posted on

While other smartphone manufacturers are quickly rolling out the latest Android updates, Samsung seems to be taking its time with One UI 7, the next major update to its custom Android skin.

Delayed Beta Testing

Unlike previous years, Samsung hasn’t started the beta program for One UI 7 yet. This unexpected delay has sparked curiosity among fans. However, recent leaks suggest that the first beta for the Galaxy S24 series is expected to arrive in early December, followed by the S23 series a few weeks later.

It’s unclear whether the Galaxy S22 series will be included in the beta program this year. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S21 series won’t be part of the beta testing.

Final Release and Device Compatibility

The final stable version of One UI 7 is anticipated to be released in February 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. This means that the S25 series will be the first to receive the update, and other eligible devices will follow later.

Early Testing for Foldables

Samsung has already started internal testing of One UI 7 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. This suggests that the company is actively working on the update and aims to ensure a smooth rollout for these foldable devices.

While the delay in the One UI 7 beta program might be disappointing, Samsung may be taking extra time to refine the update and deliver a more polished and feature-rich experience.
