In addition, recent reports have claimed that the South Korean tech giant will grow stronger as it can secure a major supplier to its peers. According to the latest news, Silicon Works could send DDI (Display Driver IC) and Touch IC (Integrated Circuit) to Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display in the next few months.

Silicon Works is Korea’s largest fabless semiconductor design company and typically offers LG Display its semiconductor solution. However, it seems that the company will split from LG later this year.

Now, Samsung received DDI from its systems LSI business and MagnaChip Semiconductor. However, given the increasing demand for integrated circuits, Silicon Works may also join the party to boost the supply chain.

The report mentions that this is not the first collaboration between Silicon Works and Samsung, as these companies have collaborated only last year. However, this time the mode of cooperation is different, which is discussed in DDI. So, if this collaboration goes smoothly, we may see a Samsung smartphone with silicon DDI in the second half of 2021.
