Sony may complete hardware development of PS VR2

According to the latest report,  Guo Mingji made a new round of predictions on the release of the Sony PS VR2 on social platforms. He believes that Sony has completed the hardware development of PS VR2, and the hardware supply chain can start in 2022. Mass production begins in the third quarter of this year. But whether Sony will release PS VR2 in 2022 is a difficult question to decide.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s analysis, if Sony insists on releasing PS VR2 with a strong lineup of 20+ games, Sony may miss the peak season due to the long time period; if it does not insist on releasing PS VR2 with an eye-catching game lineup, it will definitely be available in 2022 but may result in lower-than-expected shipments.

Separately, it said the game developer revealed that the PS VR2 version will be released in 2023, similar to its previous prediction of a possible release date for PS VR2 on May 30.

According to previous reports, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted the release of PS VR2 on May 30. According to a supply chain survey, Sony PS VR2 assemblers and several parts suppliers will start mass production in the second half of 2022, with shipments of about 1.5 million pieces. And it said at the time that Sony may launch the product in the first quarter of 2023, depending on the development progress of the PS VR2 game.
