Sony requests new U.S. license to continue business with Huawei

Japna’s Sony and memory Chipmaker Kioxia Holdings have applied for US approval to continue trade with Huawei. After Intel received license many other companies applied for permission to supply the Chinese company.

Huawei is one of the top buyers of Sony’s image sensor used in Huawei smartphones. Kioxia is the world’s second-largest flash memory manufacturer and also supplies to Huawei.

Kioxia warned that if the US didn’t allow it to supply to Huawei then it will face financial problems because Huawei is the major customer.

Kioxia warned US curbs, due to sanctions the memory chips will be oversupplied in the market which results in a drop in the price of memory chips.
