Tesla has announced the recall of some Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles built in the past three years due to brake caliper bolts not being properly secured.
Like other automakers, Tesla occasionally identifies potential manufacturing errors and recalls vehicles ahead of time to ensure that users are safe. The automaker explained the problem in an email the owners received.

“On some vehicles, the brake caliper bolts may not be properly secured. If one or more of these bolts are not secured to the correct specification, the bolt (s) can loosen over time and, in very rare cases, come loose. In such rare cases, unusual noise may occur and the wheel may stop spinning freely, which may cause a loss of tire pressure.”
Tesla said it is unaware of any accidents or injuries associated with the issue and is asking affected customers to sign up for service on the Tesla mobile app.
This recall applies to certain Model 3 vehicles produced between December 2018 and March 2021 and Model Y vehicles produced between January 2020 and January 2021.
