These Mi and Redmi phones will stop getting MIUI 12.5 beta updates from November 27

It’s almost been a year since the launch of the MIUI 12.5 operating system for Mi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones. Xiaomi is still proving the beta updates for its eligible smartphones to test new features and changes,

However, some eligible smartphones have temporarily stopped receiving it due to the Android 12 beta. Well, Android 12 isn’t the only reason for all devices not getting MIUI 12.5 beta updates. Some are not getting it because they are now old and their beta period is over.

With the recent MIUI 12.5 beta update, Xiaomi announced that some of its smartphones will stop receiving these updates from November 27. The following is the list of those phones.

List of Mi Phones:

  • Xiaomi Mi 9
  • Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro
  • Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
  • Xiaomi Mi CC9
  • Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition

List of Redmi Phones:

  • Redmi K20 Pro
  • Redmi K20
  • Redmi Note 8 Pro
  • Redmi Note 8

MIUI 12.5 Beta Updates

Beta updates are newer and more experimental versions of already released operating systems. Beta testing is an opportunity for actual users to use the product in a production environment to uncover any bugs or issues before a general release.

These are “real” users and they perform their testing in a production environment running on the same hardware, network, etc. as the final release. However, early access and beta updates may be less stable than other updates. For example, the app may crash or some features may not work properly.
