Samsung beats Apple to become third best smartphone processor makers
Samsung edged out Apple to take third place in the global mobile application processor (AP) market in 2019, according to data from industry tracker Counterpoint Research.
Apple slipped to fourth place after its market share declined by 0.5% point to 13.1% last year, data showed. It now sits behind Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Samsung.

Samsung, the manufacturer of Exynos chipsets, had a 14.1% share of the global mobile AP market in 2019, up 2.2% points from a year earlier, Yonhap reports.
Qualcomm and MediaTek remained the top two manufacturers in the mobile processor market, taking 33.4% and 24.6% shares, respectively, according to Counterpoint Research.
Of the top five mobile AP producers, only Samsung and Huawei posted on-year growth in their market presence. According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s market share expanded because of the solid growth in North America and India.
