The Smart Lock feature in Android gives you control over when and where you have to unlock your device. Whereas, Trusted places allow you to set a location where your device will stay unlocked. But it seems that for some Android users the Trusted Places on Smart Lock have disappeared.
Be mentioned, the Smart Lock service is actually a function of Google Play Services. Hence Google updates these settings regardless of the Android version or the brand of your device.
As per the reports, the trusted places setting is missing from Smart Lock on the Google Pixel 6 Pro phone running on Google Play version 22.36. Also, some of the phones running on Android 13 QPR1 beta 1 are also affected.
Other Android users are also reporting a similar issue. To check whether this feature is available on your device, go to the Settings menu of your device then tap on Security > from here tap on the More security settings and then open the Smart Lock option. Here you’ll see the three options, On-body detection, Trusted places, and Trusted devices.
But for some users, it is only showing the On-body detection and Trusted devices setting.
Only some Android users are facing the Trusted places on Smart lock issue. If it is working well on your device then skip updating the latest version of Google Play Services whenever it reaches you.
Hopefully, Google will soon reach all the affected users and those with the issue can see it fixed soon.
