Ultimate Showdown is a remake of the 2006 Virtual Fighter V. The new version has improvements to distinguish it from the original, such as updated graphics using a new engine and new background music. It has new online features like a 16 player lobby, tournament mode, and spectator mode.
The game was developed by a team of Gotoku Studios members as Sega AM2 and Rue. It launches on June 1 and becomes the digital exclusive title for the PlayStation 4.
The original 2006 release of the Virtual Fighter 5 was a success in the arcade and was later ported to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This was appreciated when the initial release was launched. Some may find guest character crossovers in the game and its main character Akira Yuki and Dead or Alive 5 in Sega’s Yakuza series. Also appears as Yuki Assistant Trophy in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
Sega will be hosting a full live broadcast on its YouTube channel on Thursday, May 27 at 4 pm. The stream goes deeper into the game and the “Virtual Fighter Exports” project announced by Sega.
