Volkswagen advises its brands to suspend paid advertising on Twitter: Report

According to the report, Volkswagen said it had advised its brands to suspend Twitter on the social media platform after Elon Musk acquired Twitter.

The Volkswagen Group owns Volkswagen, Skoda, Jetta, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, Ducati, Scania, MAN, and other brands.

Europe’s largest automaker said in a statement: “We are closely monitoring the situation and will decide on our next course of action based on developments”.

On October 28, General Motors, the largest U.S. automaker, said it temporarily stopped paid advertising on Twitter after Elon Musk completed the acquisition of Twitter.

A growing number of brands have since suspended advertising on Twitter, including food company General Mills, Oreo maker Mondelez International, Pfizer, and Volkswagen’s Audi.
