During the WWDC22 keynote, Apple said users will be able to start, end, or mute VoIP calls from the Apple Watch in supported apps like Webex. This feature will allow Apple Watch users to receive VoIP calls directly from their wrist, thanks to Apple extending its CallKit framework to watchOS 9.

Moreover, Apple hasn’t shared any other details about this feature yet, and it remains to be seen if some of the most popular VoIP calling apps, like WhatsApp, will offer it on the Apple Watch in the coming months.

Furthermore, Apple Watch can already make calls over Wi-Fi networks via FaceTime audio in the Phone app and expanded support for VoIP calling in watchOS 9 will give Apple Watch users more options.
