WhatsApp preps new alert feature to notify users about channel status

WhatsApp started working on another useful feature for Channels that will alert creators and notify them about the channel status. The latest development is visible in the Android beta 2.23.20.9 version which is available to some testers via the Google Play Store.

As per the revealings, the new WhatsApp alert feature will report users and creators regarding their channel status. Notably, the term status here reflects the channel’s visibility and its restriction in certain nations.

For instance, the screenshot given below shows that a specific channel is no longer present for the US audience, due to legal requirements. The addition signifies how WhatsApp works per local laws and tries every possible effort to protect human rights while providing a secure chatting platform.
