WhatsApp is officially introducing the Channels feature on the global stage with an exciting range of features and improvements. The firm has shared the latest announcement on the major page as well as all of the online social media platforms.
On the other hand, Mark Zuckerberg also shared the news with his fans and mentioned that WhatsApp Channels are widely available for global users. To check the presence of the feature, all you have to do is install the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS, Android, and Desktop.
Note that it will still take a few weeks for the company to enable the new functionality on all WhatsApp accounts. However, the useful segment in the application will let you get updates from people and organizations that you care about.
You can access Channels in the Status tab which has now been renamed to Updates. One can follow new channels and prefer the recommended ones as per their requirements. At the same time, the company has added effective improvements to this department:
- Enhanced Directory – users can now explore new channels by using advanced filters
- Reactions – react to channel updates and express your opinions
- Message Forward – forward messages now include a link back to the channel, making it easier for users to join it.
- Delete update for everyone – channel creators now can delete a message for everyone within 30 days
