To be noted, previously, when you hide your last seen from other people, you won’t be able to see theirs too. While the same goes for the online status also.
How to change the Last seen and online status:
- Go to the WhatsApp Settings option
- Then click on Account
- Select the Privacy option
- Then click on the Last seen and online option
- Here you can select any of the four alternatives (everyone, my contacts, my contacts except the selected ones, and Nobody).
- Then you can select either Everyone or Same as last seen option under the Who can see when I’m online.
At present, the WhatsApp hide online status feature is under testing and not available for all users. Whereas, the other users could soon get this feature with the stable release.
