WhatsApp has started rolling out an effective notification tweak for iOS devices. Eventually, this addition will allow consumers to remain notified about when channels are available. The new feature is available via the iOS 23.14.1.77 version.
So far, some beta testers may experiment with a new prompt informing them that channels are not yet available. However, they are given the option to receive a notification when the ability to join channels becomes available for their accounts.

To check if the channels feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account, you can try out opening a channel invite link. Make sure that channels are currently only available to Singapore and Columbia. WhatsApp has implemented this new notification tweak for iOS users and could bring it to the Android platform as well.
