WhatsApp enables beta testers to share images in original quality
WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature where users can share their images and videos in original quality. In the latest development, the company is expanding the respective capability to more beta testers, confirming that it will soon come to general users.
Spotted in the Android beta 2.23.19.3 version, WhatsApp is rolling out a feature where some beta testers can share images and videos in original quality. The new beta update is available via the Google Play Store, so don’t miss it.
According to the information, there is a new entry point in the document pickers. With this shortcut, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to select photos and videos from their app gallery. After selecting media, it will be shared as documents to keep their quality and HEIC metadata.
Note that it is already possible to share photos and videos as documents to preserve media quality in the previous updates, but the new entry point simplifies this process by presenting the media picker, ensuring that users can quickly share media in their original quality even better than before.
