Xbox cloud gaming users exceed 20 million: Microsoft

Microsoft announced a new milestone for its Xbox cloud gaming service. During the company’s quarterly earnings conference call, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that there are more than 20 million users.

Back in April, Microsoft announced that the Xbox cloud gaming service had gained more than 10 million players, which means the service’s user base has doubled in just six months.

“We’re adding new gamers to our ecosystem to achieve our ambition of reaching players anytime, anywhere, on any device,” Nadella said.

Xbox cloud gaming usersMicrosoft’s Xbox cloud gaming was launched on September 15, 2020, for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and then the service was brought to various types of devices, including TVs, browsers, handhelds, VR devices, etc. Microsoft is also working on an Xbox streaming box, which has yet to be released.

In addition, Microsoft PC Game Pass subscriptions rose 159% year over year, and Xbox hardware revenue also rose 13% in the quarter, mainly driven by Xbox Series S sales. Nadella revealed: “Nearly half of Xbox Series S buyers are getting into the Xbox ecosystem for the first time.”
