Xiaomi Android 12 Features:

Google provides some useful features on Android 12. The Android 12 OS will have Wi-Fi password sharing through a fully revised user interface, new gamepad vibration settings, restricted network mode, nearby sharing, application hibernation, and more.

Below, you can check the new features and changes that come with Android 12 for developers.

New Accent Color:

The user interface of Android 12 has a bluish tint that is visible in both light and dark themes. As exposed in the leaked screenshots of Android 12, the developer preview confirms the UI changes in the background with custom colors. The light blue accent can be seen in the System UI within system apps, including Settings.

Notifications:

Google has switched the transparent background to an opaque light beige background. The separation between the “conversations” section and the rest of the notifications looks unchanged, while the rounded corners of each notification are now more pronounced.

Quick Settings:

The default order of the Quick Settings tiles is now changed. The Android 12 adds the DND and Battery Saver toggles to the first card by moving the mobile data toggle to the second card. Furthermore, the inactive Quick Settings tiles now show a light blue color instead of gray.

Lock Screen:

With the Android 12, the lock screen equips a transparent layer in the background which looks similar to the Notifications shade. Moreover, the pattern lock’s unlock animation now performs slightly bouncier.

AVIF image support:

Android 12 introduces platform support for AV1 Image File Format (AVIF) that gives a higher image quality with more efficient compression. The AVIF takes advantage of the intra-frame encoded content from video compression, just like the other image formats.

Foreground service optimizations:

With this version of Android, Google will be blocking the foreground service starts from the background for apps that are targeting the new platform to ensure a better experience for users.

Rich content insertion:

To easily insert and move images, videos, and other expressive content in apps, Google bringing a new unified API that lets you accept content from any source: clipboard, keyboard, or drag and drop.

Haptic-coupled audio effect:

With Android 12, applications can provide audio-coupled haptic feedback by the phone’s vibrator. The vibration frequency and strength are derived from an audio session that allows developers to create a more immersive game and audio experience.

Immersive mode API improvements for gesture nav:

Google has simplified the immersive mode so that gesture navigation is easier and more consistent while watching a video, reading a book, or playing a game. In addition, the company still protecting apps from accidental gestures when in full-screen experiences related to gaming.
