Xiaomi Pad 5 series may not get Android 14, but will enjoy MIUI 15

Android 14-based MIUI 15 is the upcoming software version, which will offer bundles of sophisticated features and offerings for your Xiaomi devices. Therefore, users are wondering whether they will receive the upcoming iteration of software or not, so for the Xiaomi Pad 5 user, there is one good as well as bad news.

Xiaomi unveiled the Pad 5 series in 2021 preinstalled with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 and currently the devices are running on the Android 13-based MIUI 14 software in all the markets. According to new findings, these products will get an update to MIUI 15 in the near future, but not receive Android 14.

The Chinese tech giant has started testing a new version of its custom skin, MIUI 15 on Xiaomi Pad 5, Pad 5 Pro 5G, and Pad 5 Pro Wi-Fi, but it is based on Android 13 and not the upcoming version of the operating system. However, it’s not surprising as Xiaomi did not promise three OS upgrades for 2021 released tablets.

While it’s disappointing that the Xiaomi Pad 5 series will not receive the Android 14 update, will still benefit from the latest MIUI 15. This means that while users may not be able to experience the new features and improvements brought by Android 14, they can still enjoy the enhanced user interface and functionality provided by MIUI 15.
