Xiaomi removes MIUI Music App from Google Play Store

Posted on

Here’s some bad news for all the Xiaomi smartphone users who love to listen to music on their smartphones, as the Chinese tech giant has now removed its Mi Music app from the Play Store in India. The decision of removing the popular app was the regulatory pressure, which the company is facing.

Xiaomi Mi Music app was in partnership with the Indian entertainment company Hungama, which provides music streaming to its customers. The application was used to offer unlimited access to millions of music, curated playlists, and content from your favorite artists.

Not only Mi Music, but the company has previously stopped multiple service offerings in India. However, the Chinese tech firm has faced a challenging time in India amid a regulatory crackdown over tax evasion issues and an executive exodus.

Additionally, the Indian government has also banned Xiaomi’s browser, video call, and community app along with a swathe of Chinese apps including TikTok, Shein, and UC Browser in 2020.
