No more Mi phones, Xiaomi to revise branding strategy with upcoming models

Xiaomi has become the world’s biggest smartphone brand this year, but they have little influence in the United States. The company is mainly known for affordable smartphones, their products are valued for money, no matter the price, everyone has a smartphone.

According to the latest information, to make its products unique, Xiaomi divides its products into several sub-brands, the most attractive of which is “Mi”. The “MI” brand has been a commonly used trademark over the past 10 years. Xiaomi has now confirmed that all its future products will use the “Xiaomi” brand logo.

The MIX 4 full-screen mobile phone launched by Xiaomi adopts the brand new “Xiaomi” brand logo and no longer uses the “MI” brand logo. The Chinese giant Xiaomi has revealed that it has abandoned the “Mi” brand. This is a big step of the company. Its future devices will no longer use “MI” when launched.

Of course, the first foreign product of its kind is the Mi MIX 4 equipped with the Snapdragon 888+ chip. Previously, the foreign version of the Mi 11 series used the “Xiaomi” logo, but the Mi 11 style was still used in the promotional text.

Earlier Xiaomi products sold in China had canceled the “MI” brand. Starting with the Mi 9 series mobile phones, Xiaomi mobile phones have started using the “Xiaomi” brand logo. The latest move appears to be in line with this change, with Xiaomi continuing to streamline its new brand globally.

Apart from smartphones, this “MI” brand name is also used in other product categories, such as tablets, wearables and laptops. Therefore,it looks like we do not see this trademark on these devices.

A few weeks ago, Xiaomi surpassed Samsung with a market share of 17.1% to become the world’s number one smartphone market. Samsung, on the other hand, slipped to the second position with a share of 15.7%, and Apple stood at the third position with a share of 14.3%.

On March 30, Xiaomi’s founder, president and CEO Lei Jun announced at the spring new product launch that Xiaomi has officially launched a new logo.

As per the reports, Xiaomi’s new MI logo was designed by designer Hara Kenya. Xiaomi previously stated that under the design concept of “living”, the new Xiaomi logo with “super-elliptical” mathematical beauty is no longer confined to the corner of the screen, as is life. Xiaomi’s new Xiaomi logo has been launched in stores like Xiaomi Home.

Although the company is known for its smartphones, Xiaomi sells a range of products across the smart home, lifestyle, and computing categories, including TVs, laptops, refrigerators, air fryers, smartwatches, scooters, robots, hairdryers, and more. Today, most of these products belong to the Mi brand, but any new product launched by them will change this situation.
