It’s been years since Xiaomi is leading the Indian smartphone market. In 2021, we have witnessed an unstoppable growth of the brand in the country. Recently, Counterpoint reveals that Xiaomi continues to lead the Indian smartphone market in Q3 2021, now, IDC claims the same.
Going by the International Data Corporation report, the Indian smartphone market registered a year-over-year (YoY) decline of 12% in 3Q21, shipping 48 million units after four consecutive quarters of growth.

Although Xiaomi registered a decline in shipments, it captured the maximum market share. According to IDC, the tech giant shared a 23.40% market, a 17% YoY decline. Notably, its sub-brand, Poco registered a high 65% YoY growth in shipments.
Besides Xiaomi, Samsung remained on the second spot with a 33% YoY decline in the quarter. Vivo was in the third position with a shipment decline of 13% (YoY).
Whereas, Realme captured the fourth slot with a YoY decline of 5% and Oppo witnessed a decline of 16% YoY to take the fifth spot in terms of smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2021.
