Acer released a variety of new products, including two 4K projectors GM712 and GD711 designed for gaming use, using LED and halogen light sources, respectively. Both support up to 4K resolution. The first product, GD711, belongs to the Predator series. It uses LED light sources with a maximum brightness of 1450 ANSI and supports HDR10. This product has a 4K resolution in standard mode, but the resolution is reduced to 1080P in game mode.
Moreover, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate when connected to the host and a 240Hz refresh rate when connected to a PC. It is worth noting that this product is currently the only projector in the world that supports VRR variable refresh rate technology. The Acer GD711 projector can project up to 100 inches of screen and has a built-in smart system. The product has two HDMI 2.0 ports, an audio output port, and a USB-A type port. The life span of the light source is 20,000 to 30,000 hours.

This product will be on sale in China in November, priced at 11,999 yuan; in addition, it will land in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in December. The second projector, GM712, uses halogen bulbs as the light source, with a brightness of up to 3600 ANSI. This product is priced slightly lower at RMB 10,999, but the lifespan is reduced to 5,000 hours in the standard mode and 12,000 hours in the Eco mode.
Besides, the function of GM712 is similar to that of the GD711 projector. Both support HDR10, variable refresh rate, and 1080P 240Hz. Some smart TVs currently focus on “gaming” purposes, with a 4K 120Hz display panel, HDMI 2.1 interface, and support for variable refresh rates.
Furthermore, Acer’s two brand-new projectors are one of the few projectors on the market that support VRR variable refresh rates. This technology allows the product to get a smoother picture when connected to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S game consoles.
