Apple recently rolled out the first beta version of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 for developers with several new features and optimizations. In addition to all these new offerings, the iOS 17.4 Beta also hints at the new Face ID camera which can be used in landscape mode for the upcoming Apple iPad model.
According to the information of 9TO5Mac, the internal iO 17.4 beta files suggest that Apple has been working on a new iPad model that has a TrueDepth camera (used for Face ID) placed at the top when the iPad is in landscape orientation, to offer users a more satisfactory camera performance.
As of now, every iPad Pro model with Face ID has a camera positioned and this results in a weird angle for video conferences, while the iPad is in landscape mode. So to fix this concern and provide iPad device owners with a more pleasing video calling experience, Apple is working on a new camera method.
However, currently there is no information available like with which iPad model, Apple is planning to bring this new camera method. But, Apple is expected to announce new iPads around March alongside the iPadOS 17.4 public release.
