DDR5 memory prices regularly dropping, report says 20% price cut in a month

Since the launch of DDR5 memory, the high price has always been a major factor hindering users’ purchases. According to the latest report, DDR5-4800 memory is now priced at less than 5 euros per gigabyte, which is 20% cheaper in just four weeks. This is a significant reduction from the price per GB of 15 euros at the end of 2021.

Moreover, ComputerBase’s price tracker lists over 200 different DDR5 kits. A standard SO-DIMM (desktop) 32GB kit with DDR5-4800 memory (JEDEC standard) is now priced at €154. Similar price cuts have been seen for mobile U-DIMM memory, with Kingston’s 16GB 4800 MT/s now priced at €42, more than half the price it was in February (€99).
