EPYC processors used in world’s top 100 supercomputing systems: AMD

AMD’s data released showed that 28 of the world’s top 100 supercomputing systems use AMD EPYC processors. AMD said that AMD EPYC processors and AMD Instinct GPUs are helping supercomputing systems enter the E-class era.

Among them, the Frontier system will be delivered in 2021, and its theoretical peak computing power is 15 billion FLOPS (ExaFlops), which is equivalent to the total computing power of the TOP50 supercomputers in the world today.

Moreover, EL Capitan is scheduled to be delivered in 2023, and its peak computing power is expected to reach 20 billion FLOPS. The financial report shows that AMD’s third-quarter revenue was US$4.313 billion, a year-on-year increase of 54%; net profit was US$923 million, a year-on-year increase of 137%.
