Foxconn partners with Nvidia to set up AI factories
Foxconn is joining hands with the American chip maker Nvidia and plans to build AI factories. Both firms announced their association on Wednesday in Taipei, in favor of becoming the top-most global players in electric car manufacturing.
Following the announcement, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that with the help of Nvidia’s chips, new facilities, as well as the latest software, Foxconn will be able to increase AI utilization in its electric vehicles.
Moreover, the large computing system that requires advanced chips will become capable of developing dynamic software platforms for the next-gen EVs. Eventually, the partnership of Nvidia and Apple supplier Foxconn to set up new AI factories will harness power for a wide range of applications.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said:
“We are at the beginning of a new computing revolution. This is the beginning of a brand new way of doing software — using computers to write software that no humans can.”
