Here is why the Google Pixel 6 fingerprint unlock shows slow response

Posted on

The Google Pixel 6 smartphone received an all-embracing acknowledgment from the users except for its fingerprint unlock feature. Google released this series in October this year, and just after the release, users started complaining about its fingerprint sensor response.

The users are really dissatisfied with the slow and unreliable fingerprint scanner, which makes it troublesome to unlock the phone. Related to this matter, Google has finally responded to these complaints, but although it explained the reasons, it did not really provide any reliable solutions.

Google Pixel 6 fingerprint Unlock: Response

First, the search engine apologizes to the users saying “We are sorry for the trouble.” The company further explains, “the Pixel 6 fingerprint sensor uses enhanced security algorithms. In some cases, these additional protections may take longer to verify or require more direct contact with the sensor.”

Although Google attributed the problem to the “enhanced security algorithm” used by the Pixel 6’s fingerprint scanner, some users claim that it could be a hardware problem.

To be mentioned, the Google Pixel 6 uses an under-screen optical fingerprint scanner instead of a fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner like the Samsung Galaxy S21. Thus, users indicated that this may be the reason for the poor sensor performance.

However, other users on Reddit said that the optical fingerprint scanner works well on their OnePlus phones, which indicates that the Pixel 6 may have some software issues.

Moreover, Google doesn’t provide any solution instead just explains the reason at present. We can only expect the company to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
