Intel partners with Google Cloud to develop a new data center chip: Report

According to the latest report, Intel has teamed up with Google Cloud to develop a new type of data center chip. This new chip is called Mount Evans, which is called the “Infrastructure Processing Unit” (IPU) by Google and Intel. It is sold to companies other than Google.

According to reports, Intel is not the only manufacturer of infrastructure chips. Nvidia and Marvell also offer similar but slightly different products. Intel is one of the few semiconductor companies that both design and manufactures their own chips.

For decades, the company has been a leader in manufacturing the smallest and fastest computing chip technology, but now it has lost its lead to TSMC and Samsung. Today, the company is expanding its new foundry business to catch up with competitors such as TSMC and Samsung Electronics by 2025.

On Wednesday, Intel released a new personal computer (PC) chip, the 12th-generation Intel Core chip, code-named Alder Lake. The company said that the product line will eventually include 60 different chips for 500 models of PCs from different manufacturers, including ultra-thin notebooks, gaming notebooks, etc.

In the public cloud market, Google Cloud is the third largest cloud computing provider after Amazon Cloud Services and Microsoft Azure. Google has set a goal for Google Cloud to defeat its competitors Microsoft Azure and Amazon Cloud Services by 2023.

Recently, media reports stated that the Digital Agency of Japan has selected Amazon Cloud Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform as the first service providers for its cloud computing project.
