Japan’s Eamex develops high-capacity capacitors can fully charge electric vehicles within a minute

Posted on

According to the latest report, Eamex, a Japanese electronic component development company, has developed a high-capacity capacitor that can be charged in as little as 1 minute if it is used in a pure electric vehicle (EV). Eamex will supply samples in August and mass production will begin shortly.

Moreover, this capacitor also has a strong ability to convert the heat generated by the brakes into electrical energy for reuse. If it is configured in the same place as the lithium-ion battery, it is possible to achieve an EV cruising distance of more than the same level.

The capacitor developed this time replaces the positive electrode of the lithium ion battery with a special conductive polymer called “polyaniline”, which can efficiently absorb lithium ions. The trial product can be charged in 1-3 minutes and can be repeatedly charged and discharged more than 30,000 times.
