Lenovo’s new gaming laptop exposed on Geekbench, equipped with i9-12900HK processor

A new Lenovo gamebook code-named “LENOVO 82S9” appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, equipped with Intel’s upcoming 12-generation Core mobile high-performance processor i9-12900HK.

In terms of running points, this i9-12900HK has a single-core score of 1751 and a multi-core score of 6438. The multi-core score is low, which may be the reason for the test model.

In terms of parameters, Intel i9-12900HK uses a large and small core design, 14 cores, and 20 thread specifications, including 6 large cores and 8 small cores; the main frequency is 2.89GHz, the turbo frequency can reach 4.88GHz and 24MB L3 cache.

Moreover, this Lenovo “LENOVO 82S9” uses DDR4-3200 memory instead of the latest DDR5 memory. This may mean that the high latency brought by DDR5 will have some adverse effects on the number of game frames.

Alder Lake-P mobile processors will be equipped with up to  6 Golden Cove performance cores + 8 Gracemont energy efficiency cores, a total of 20 threads, expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022.

Intel’s 12th-generation Core desktop processor has been released. The flagship model i9-12900K has a turbo frequency of up to 5.2 GHz and a specification of up to 16 cores and 24 threads. It supports DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 connections. It also uses Intel 7 process technology for the first time.

Intel said that the 12th-generation Intel Core product family will include 60 processors, bringing scalable performance from 9 watts to 125 watts, covering ultra-thin laptops to enthusiast desktops, and partners’ 500-plus models will be equipped.
