Luxury car maker Rolls Royce’s first pure electric vehicle is under development

BMW today released the production models of iX and i4 and announced that these two cars will start global delivery in November this year, with good performance. As a subsidiary, Rolls-Royce also announced its mass production plan for electric vehicles.

Rolls-Royce confirmed that it is developing an electric car called Silent Shadow, paying tribute to the classic Silver Shadow model.

It is said that its battery capacity will exceed 100kWh, and its cruising range will be at least 500 kilometers. In addition, Silent Shadow will be developed together with the parent company BMW’s BMW i7 electric car, both of which will be based on the CLAR platform.

According to previous reports, the car will adopt the exterior design of the 103EX concept car, or it will be a four-door sedan model. It will not only have a subversive design in terms of appearance and interior but also use pure electric driving in terms of driving. Rolls Royce called it a “brand new Rolls Royce”.

It is said that most of the car’s chassis and components are shared with the BMW i7, and the engine and axles will also be directly manufactured by BMW. In addition, the Ningde era and Samsung SDI batteries that this model will use indicate that this domestic energy battery manufacturer will go further.

BMW previously stated that it’s pure electric models will account for at least 50% of its total car delivery by 2030, and will provide at least one pure electric model in each market segment covered by its business.
