Microsoft Store introduces Xbox Academy free game development workshop in UK

Microsoft UK has announced the creation of the Xbox Digital Academy (Xbox Academy) for UK students in grades 9 and 10 who are passionate about video games.

Xbox Academy was a collaborative effort between the Microsoft Store, Microsoft Education, East London Arts and Music (ELAM), and Rare Studios. Xbox Academy should inspire teens to create their own video games.

The first event will take place on May 10, during one of the sessions, Rare representatives will discuss their roles in the company and explain their career paths in manufacturing, design, and quality control. ELAM will provide additional information on how to get started with game development from an academic perspective.

Games have such a bright future, and we are passionate about helping educate and inspire the next generation of gaming professionals by giving them ideas to help them build careers in our industry.

Craig Duncan, Head of Rare Studios. The big Microsoft Work Experience Week, which takes place online, will provide students with an insight into what it is like to work at Microsoft, with a particular focus on early career experience.
