Microsoft’s IE browser officially end support on June 15, 2022

According to the latest report, the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser officially retired after 27 years. Microsoft has repeatedly announced the end of support for Internet Explorer 11 on June 15, 2022, and now that day has finally come.

Internet Explorer was originally a software package add-on for Windows 95 and used to be a major part of how many people used the Internet. The well-known browser peaked in 2003, according to Times Now, and it only gradually declined as new browsers entered the market. With the advent of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft’s browser faces very stiff competition.

Microsoft is making the transition from IE to Edge as easy as possible. In a company press release, Microsoft’s Sean Lyndersay mentioned that IE’s successor, Microsoft Edge, has “IE Mode” built in. This IE mode provides access to legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications in the Microsoft Edge browser.

Microsoft recommends that you switch from Internet Explorer to Edge as soon as possible. In addition, through the conversion process, users can also transfer the rights of saved passwords, favorites, etc. to the new version of the browser.

Here are Microsoft’s instructions for discontinuing support for Internet Explorer: “This end of support does not affect the Windows 10 LTSC or Server Internet Explorer 11 desktop applications in the market.
