OWC revealed a Accelsior 8M2 PCIe SSD

OWC announced the launch of the PCIe SSD Accelsior 8M2. Users have two options to choose the PCIe SSD expansion card version without the internal solid-state or the solid-state drive directly inside the expansion card. The maximum capacity of PCIe SSD Accelsior 8M2 is 64TB.

Moreover, this PCIe SSD expansion card version can add up to 8 M.2 NVMe SSDs. In addition to the expansion card version, it also has 2/4/8/16/32/64TB six capacity specification versions are available for users to choose.

In terms of appearance, it is 127 mm × 325 mm × 22 mm, and there is a fan on the left side of the front for solid-state active heat dissipation. This solid-state drive uses PCIe 3.0 x16 at the current stage with a maximum read speed of 12000 MB/s and stated that in the future, the maximum transfer speed using PCIe 4.0 x16 is 26000 MB/s.

Furthermore, OWC claims that the SSD supports 2019 Mac Pro and computers using Windows and Linux operating systems, and helps smooth editing and playback of 16 channels of 8K Apple ProRes 444 video streams in Mac Pro. SoftRAID can be used to build and run SSDs. RAID arrays and a 5-year warranty are provided for capacity versions above 2TB.
