Qualcomm plans custom CPU for Windows with 8 and 10 cores
Qualcomm has started working on the development of a new custom CPU for Windows that will comprise 8 and 10 cores tech elements. As per the details, the company already intends to equip its first high-end chip with 12 cores for Windows-based ARM PCs. And we may see the implementation in the time ahead.
The information further hints that Qualcomm is currently testing a new chip – Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 CPU codenamed Hamoa which could arrive in three custom variants including 8, 10, and 12 cores and will make its way to Windows. Model numbers for 8 and 10 cores are SC8350 and SC8370.

Meanwhile, some previous reports reveal that the company also wants to offer chips with different clock rates to maintain their performance. We could have the first devices based on new chips in early 2024. Although a demonstration of the new Snapdragon portfolio for Windows systems could be held in October.
