Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X80 5G AI chipset with satellite communications, might be a game-changer for smartphone

Qualcomm Snapdragon X80 is here with 5G Advanced technology with increased power and new AI features. The X80 is the first 5G modem to integrate satellite communications and support six carrier aggregation. It features a dedicated 5G AI processor with tensor acceleration for improved data speeds, reduced latency, and enhanced coverage.

It promises a 30% improvement in location accuracy and 10% less power usage in connected mode for mmWave. It provides downlink speeds hitting up to 10 Mbps and uplink speeds soaring to 3.5 Mbps.

Some of the upcoming phones in the second half of the year might feature a serious connectivity boost.
